On October 13, 2015, The Mountaineers sent a survey to 4781 people it knew may have volunteered for the organization in the past year. 488 people responded to the survey. 351 people completed it and 137 people provided partial answers to it. It was a long, extensive survey asking about their experiences as volunteers. On average, it took 23 minutes and 15 seconds to complete.
